Our own product, now getting ready for launch. Bodka records a meeting, transcribes it and sums it up in clear bullet points. Everything happens right on the phone or Mac, and the audio never leaves the device. For Czech we fine-tuned our own speech recognition model.
Why we built our own AI that works offline
Most common meeting transcription tools send audio to third-party servers for processing. For lawyers, doctors, consultants and anyone who discusses sensitive matters, that is often a problem. Bodka is our answer: recording, speech recognition and summarising all run on the device itself.
We started in February 2026 with the brand, a website and an iPhone prototype. In April we rebuilt the app so one codebase can serve iPhone, Mac and Android, and added speech recognition and a language model that run directly on the device. For Czech we fine-tuned our own speech recognition model and published it on Hugging Face.
Today the app can record an hour-long meeting, keep recording in the background, transcribe it and offer a summary and key points straight away. No account, no tracking and no cloud subscription. Bodka is getting ready for its App Store launch.
Challenge
Speech recognition and AI summaries need a lot of computing power, which is why most tools process them in the cloud. We wanted both on the device, in Czech and English, with smooth controls and background recording.
Solution
An app where transcription and summaries run on the device. Users download the models once in the app, and from then on it works without a connection. Recordings, transcripts and summaries are stored only on the phone or Mac.
Result
The whole flow from recording to transcript, summary and key points works offline on iPhone and Mac. Our Czech model is publicly available. The app is getting ready for launch, with a one-off price and no subscription planned.
